The only thing striking about the whole deal is perhaps the unique architecture of the U.S.S. Enterprise and the elf-like pointed ears of the character Spock.
Even so, the latest installment has proven that despite these traditional setbacks, it was still able to totally impress a non-Trekkie like me with its witty storyline and really fast-paced photon-packed scenes. Added to that, we are finally seeing more bodycount in the Federation's Humanitarian and Peace-keeping intergalactic quest.
The new Spock, Zachary Quinto, is definitely not unfamiliar to us but the uncanny likeness to that of the old one is really quite spooky.
The fact that the original Spock, Leonard Nimoy, got casted in this installment was a really nice touch and must have given Trek fans out there a pretty priceless rush.
